You know I wonder if you could get an Ele strike like the monks had
With all the people complaining about elementalist's damage, I wonder if you could get enough for a strike.
Kind of like the monks had when protective spirit was going to get nerfed.

I'm wondering what this would bring to the table though?
Everyone keeps going on about Ele's being underpowered and to a certain degree they can be. I'm assuming we are focussing on PvP now instead of PvE since I know my poor ele has a hard time to kill another player in AB/GvG/etc.
But then wouldn't it be better to sit down, look at our current skills and find some that could be changed for the better? ANet has a hard enough time to keep the game balanced, they don't need us to shout the odds at them. How bout just listing ideas instead?
The thing is that with any class you have to find a good build to use. Then there are so many builds out there that counters it as well. Finding a good few spells to use in conjunction with the rest of your team tactics will be far more efficient than stowing your Ele IMHO.

Hmm why? nothing is going to be nerfed....
Are you just going to whine for a buff?
If you do that then every other class will whine for a buff because in any sense you can say that any class is underpowered. The funny thing is that people don't just try to use them in different ways. Different combos and class mixing.
You shouldn't whine for a class to buff it...
Oh maybe the necros and assassins and warriors should go on strike that would get their way wouldn't it?

Ele's can't really strike because you can easily do all missions without ele's.

Lol thats true too so we have two reasons here.
Whining is for uncreative people who just want to nuke or air spike or run a simple earth build, and it wouldn't have any effect on players.
Except maybe farming groups, in which case they can learn to solo.

You can do most, if not all, missions without monk-players, if you have to. Any can be completed without profession X or Y.

It's supposed to be difficult to kill another PC. If you're of about equal strength it's had to defeat your opponent. But wouldn't that indicate it's all pretty well balanced?

Thanks Amy Awien, that was my whole point. Each class has its pros and cons. Learn to live with them and you will enjoy the class.
One person on their own can do very little to a group that is well organised.

I don't think they need a buff of some sort, but correcting the general feeling that "ellys are the best damage dealers around in the whole world" would be nice.

QFT. Even the monk strike was sort of a joke.

I always hate it when a damage profession isn't all it is cracked up to be and everyone says "Enjoy being a support class" That happened to the Wizard in EQ2 and it got on my nerves.
Not just that outside of GvG maby people would like to use their elementalist.

The Monk strike was something the Monks could do, because they were Monks. It was a joke, and it was more of a party atmosphere there in THK where it took place than any kinda organized plot to gain a buff or really gain the respect of the other classes.
An Ele strike along the same lines wouldn't be original, would be largely ignored, and I feel would only accentuate the feeling that Ele's are 2ndary as dmg dealers to the other classes.
Even if you really only wanted to do it as just kind of a big Ele party somewhere, at least change the format. Don't make it a strike.

Not so sure....
Try Fow ( Not a mission ofcourse )
Also Dark Island area is not very friendly. One ele in team does make a difference.
@Luciora...
Well buddy, There is a reason that there are over 50 threads out there for ele being underpowered.
Not so sure if ANET had enough time reading those threads. Out of those threads, one of which does take a good 5 hours atleast, started by Ensign "Why Nuking Sucks".
And as what Yanman said, You can do most of the missions without an ele, no issues. Almost agreed.
With regards to Pros and Cons comment, The ratio is about 2:5 ( 2 pros, 5 cons )
@lightinghell
Totally Agreed. In one of the other threads, Some one suggested to add damage percentage, depending on the Energy Storage (This primary attribute is begging for some attention. Kindly dont gimme that exhaustion skills usage to support the current state of this attribute) Am kinda tired of doing 42 damage with a maxed fireball spell to a regular ranger you know..
Suggestion was something like, Add a % of damage ( He suggested 5% per level ) when spending points in Energy storage ( Which i assume, should change the Attribute's Name, since it will not only be aiding your energy, but damage too, while keeping others from doing more damage if not Primary ele. Kinda like Monk's Divine Favour idea.) At Energy Storage 13, you do 65% additional damage with your spell. Just like you do extra healing with divine favour boost. This might make them appear to be a class which matches the "Highest Damage dealing class" quote.
Regardz
An Elementalist. According to most, A gimped character ofcourse.
Flames are Welcome.

I think the harm comes from a more mental than real level. Still many people think that the elementalist nuker is "teh dmage", and so would "suffer" from a Elementalist strike. However, in higher level areas (from Kryta onwards, IMO), it has been proven that Elementalist damage is comparably bad to other classes, and so will not really have a real effect.
Why Mesmers don't have the chance to strike? There are so few of us that if we strike it wouldn't matter.
